Contact your Representative
Please contact YOUR REPRESENTATIVE. Be sure they know that you support THE FORT MAC VETS and ask them to co-sponsor H.R. 2622 which will require the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) to identify, notify and register the veterans of Fort McClellan. There are numerous ways to contact your representative and two of the most popular are listed here.You can search for your representative directly on the House of Representatives Website using your home Zip Code or you can visit the independent website Open Congress. There is no fee to use their service however you will have to register.
Contact the Committee
After contacting your Representative please consider contacting the committee responsible for the first phase of passage of H.R. 2622. The Subcommittee on Health is comprised of twelve Representatives, (seven republicans and five democrats). The approval from the members of this committee is essential to the resolution becoming law. Without it, this FOURTH attempt will die as the previous resolutions did. A phone call, an Email or a letter to these people will let them know you care about The Fort Mac Vets!Simply visit the Committee Website HERE. Contact your Senators
After contacting your Representative and the Committee above please contact your Senators also. It is imperative that both your Representative and Senators know of your concern for these military veterans that have given so much. The majority of them are unaware that their health may be at risk..Simply visit the U.S. Senate Website HERE. At the top right of the page you will see a "Find Your Senators" box. Click on the Down Arrow (↓), select your state and click GO.
